Advent DHE X22 Desktop

Postby peter taylour » Tue Jan 10, 2012 3:04 pm

The fan on this unit has suddenly gone noisy, probably due to ingress of dust...Questions:- How do I separate the casing to access the fan?...Secondly:- Should the fan need replacing, what would be an appropriate replacement (e.g. Part Number).

TBH if you want a PC which is fully supported by a responsible manufacturer, don't buy Advent.
The brand is a Dixons Stores Group name like Matsui and the hardware is sourced from various far eastern companies which do not offer any customer support.(neither do Dixons after the warranty has expired).
Parts are impossible to locate except for non functioning examples which occasionally appear on Ebay.

Good morning,
Thanks for your input, it seems that I have got myself a problem. I have spent hours going round and round in circles on the net , and havn't found any useful clues on how to open up the outer casing on this particular unit.
Is it screwed together (no screws visible), does it snap together, or is it glued together?????............Does anyone know how???
Thank-you to all who have looked at my problem over the past couple of days.

Finally....success....Managed to get this (**++^**) thing apart without resorting to violence.
For anyone with the same problem.......turn the unit upside down, slide the ventilated casing backwards toward the aerial socket, and remove.
Inside are two "pk" screws which have to undone, then gently prise off the the cover......Simple as that.
