ADVENT DT1310

Postby philman1975 » Wed Aug 31, 2011 11:02 am

Dear Advent Forum Members. I've recently purchased an ADVENT DT1310 desktop from PC World. I was impressed with the specs - 1.5 Tb and 8 Gb RAM as well as a dedicated graphics card couldn't be bad I thought as well as having the security of ordering from PC World. I bought it as a replacement for an 8 year old desktop that a friend and I put together (the old computer had started to slow down so that everything became a chore on it) and so far am impressed.

I'm even managing to run the game - Deus Ex HR on it which is a brand new game and quite power hungry. So far it's running well but perhaps further down the line I would like to upgrade the graphics card.

Can anyone tell me what power supply the ADVENT DT1310 has?

I'd also like to hear from anyone else who has this model and what your thoughts/plans on any upgrades are?

I've read a few posts from members who had bought the ADVENT DT1308 model and were having problems with it - sorry to hear about them but glad you received a full refund.

Hi

Philman1975 I cant comment on your question as I have no idea. The reason for this post is that I have just recently purchased the same model for my son and we cant seem to get a Seagate external HHD work on it. I can see the drive in the control panel as a mass storage disk but cant open the drive. Double clicking within the control panel only shows up the properties.
I have managed to format the drive to windows native format (it was originally fat32). It is a new drive of only 6 months old. I tried all USB ports, including the two USB3 at the front.

Any help would be gratefully received. Philman1975 I hope someone can help you soon too. : )

Hi Krafty,
That's a bit of a strange one - are you sure that all the USB ports actually work? Have you tried plugging a different USB device into it to see if the ports actually work?
I've also got a Seagate Portable Hard Drive which I used to transfer all my media across and it worked no problems - Plug n Play. Try and save something to your Seagate Hard Drive and see if it then appears.

What is a fatal error in a computer board. I am getting this fatal error message in my black screen, I have checked all the connection, wires and they are pretty much in their place. Do you know any method which can remove this fatal error from my black screen and continue booting.
