Advent 4490 formatting issues

Think this goes here if not please feel free to move it to the correct place.

I purchased an Advent 4490 back in 2010, I made a backup of the tech guys recovery programme by following the instructions however when I used the recovery programme some of the files were corrupt and the backup was also corrupt so my pc became unusable. As I needed it asap for my college work I reformatted using an XP cd, however I have recently got a virus on the pc and so I am reformatting again, when I got to the partition section I normally just click to use the current one, I have never deleted the partitions on my netbook, I have a EISA partition with no drive letter, from googling it seems this wuld contain my recovery data, is there anyway to use this partition to restore my netbook back to its factory settings? I can only access it in safe mode due to the virus but can not find the recovery programme etc anywhere in my files once windows is loaded and I can not run a recovery from the bios or by pressing f8 etc.
