Advent Speakers

Hi:

I'm new to the site, so please bear with me. I purchased a pair of Advent ADE-210F Multi Media 2.1 speakers. They've worked in the past, but don't now. I've looked in vain for free driver downloads, and all I have that came with them, was a so called "quick start" guide, that's of no use whatsoever.

Help, please.

There are no drivers except the sound card drivers in your computer which could stop them working.
It would help if you could say what you have them plugged into.

The Pc is a Hewlett Packard "Professional" Compaq Model #: dx2200. The speakers are alive, but not producing sound. Looking at "my computer" I don't see that the speakers appear to be on it, and they don't appear on the Control Panel, either. They have been working, but my Broadband went down, and a technical support person from TalkTalk came in, and was "fiddling" around with the computer. I suspect that he knows something about their "disappearance!" But, I very much doubt that I shall get anywhere with TalkTalk in this regard. Currently, they are still plugged into the appropriate jacks in the rear of the computer.

Do hope you can give me some help, here.

Check the speakers are plugged into the correct socket.
The speakers should have a 3.5mm stereo jack plug which goes into the small, round, green socket at the rear of the PC. You can also test the sound output by plugging a pair of headphones into the same socket.
