Advent milano help required

Ok i have advent milano netbook, screen smashed so i took off and atached
monitor to it, at first worked on safemode but not normal mode
anyway after many different approaches i did reformat with external disk
with original xp home sp2, as i was installing xp again it got to the point were
it restarts ! After restart it does not continue ? I have option to f2 , f8, f12, i tried f8 and tried
to load in safemode but comes to blank screen ? I tried normal and same outcome ( blank screen)
if i put external cd drive on then it gives me option to load xp again from scratch ?
What can i do ? Help me please someone
