Advent 9207

The harddrive won't turn on,have checked plugs, fuses,nothing! My daughter was using the computer last evening, shut it down then went to start it up again and nothing happened.The laptop light is on and the internet connection is working but the hard drive is dead-any ideas,please help.

Can you verify the model number you are quoting, the T9207 is a desktop computer and there isn't a laptop 9207.

Sorry meant to say the screen light is on, as you say it is a desktop computer

The most probable cause will be the base unit power supply (PSU) has failed. It could also be a faulty switch, mainboard, processor etc.
I would take it to a local repair shop (avoid PC World) and throw yourself on their mercy. It is possible to DIY replace the PSU but it would be better to have the fault correctly diagnosed before spending any money.
