MEDIA DRIVERS FOR ADVENT 9107 TOWER WINDOWS XP

I recently bought an Ipod Nano 4th generation and installed the iTunes software. But it seems to have annihilated the multimedia drivers and the computer now only makes sound through the PC speaker. Upon start up it says, "Please install audio driver and audio device." The computers mulimedia facilities worked fine before. I have 3 back-up CD's that I created when I bought the computer but its not obvious how I'm meant to retrieve information off them. I have a good understanding of computers but I'm lost on this problem! Can anyone help please? Many thanks

It may simply be a case of reinstalling the sound (audio) drivers.
