Sorry posted into the wrong place so I will start again. I have an Advent kc500-r. The screen has blanked out so I would like to connect to a TV to display the image. I need to know the order or key entries to make this happen, can anyone help. Many thanks.

its usually one of the function keys, so press the fn button and the function key, sometimes there is a little picture showing the external / internal screen, it scrolls between the modes so you might have to press a couple of times.

The Advent KC500 is an ECS U40SI and the user manual says "You can hook up an external monitor through the 15-pin CRT connector. Three configurations are available:
• LCD only
• CRT only
• Simultaneous display of the LCD screen and CRT monitor
You can switch between these display configurations by pressing
the key combination [Fn] + [F4]."
The terms LCD and CRT refer to the laptop screen and external monitor respectively.
