Advent 5431 fan speed

Postby richardarkless » Sat Mar 13, 2010 2:06 pm

Hi im wondering if you can help me my sister has had this advent 5431 laptop for over a year now and I have upgraded her to windows 7 (clean install), I managed to install all the drivers using cpu-z which told me most of the hardware information and anyway im having problems with it, ive noticed it gets very hot then turns itself off automatically and when I turn it back on it bluescreens and I have to wait until it cools down

How do I know if the fn and f2 is on or not, is there suppost to be a utility that tells me this

I also press the button and I cant hear any difference in sound either

Yes, there is supposed to be an on screen display utility.

ok another question I am hoping someone could answer, I am a huge Linux advocate and I am thinking of switching my sisters laptop to ubuntu, is there a utility that mimicks this?

dont worry if no one answers this question, I will most likely be posting it on the ubuntu forums anyway
