Hi - can anyone help me. I have just tried to use my advent laptop ert 2250. Nothing at all , I can;t switch it on. Not sure if its the battery/ no power or it is the computer itself. how do i find out ?

Try with the battery out just on mains power. If no go If you have a multimeter check the mains adaptor is ok.
Otherwise try a local computer repair shop. I would not consider PCWorld in this category.
